Committing my Cause to God in 2013

When I got the review from WordPress and found out that people in 94 countries have been reading my stories, I was totally blown away.  I want to thank each of you for looking at this blog.  Happy New Year.  I wonder where we will be 2014.  I know for sure, if we don’t start now, we will be looking back and wishing we had.

I found a wonderful Scripture in Job 5:8.  It says “I would seek God and unto God I would commit my cause.”  This year, I am starting a new business venture and it is set to kick off today.  Seeking God, I commit this new venture to Him.

I have spent a lot of money (for me) to develop web pages that will help me and those I select to become successful!!  There are many wonderful tools that I can share with others.

I must confess, I have butterflies, but as with any business, you have to spend money to make money.  Very soon I will post a blog that tells you how you can apply, if you are interested.  While I don’t promise that you will make $1 million, those who will be serious can develop a nice income as a result of their effort.  The amazing tools and support makes success not only possible but highly probable.

I am also part of a group of friends that are committing to live wiser lives this year by eating healthy and normalizing our weight once and for all.  We are starting after New Year’s Day.  Stay tuned for my progress!

Watch for my announcement!!

“What are you seeking and what cause do you have in 2013?”  Let me know.

Discover my blog!

A true discovery moment was when my friend, Steve helped me put up a website and then introduced me to the Chiefblogger!  This was an adventure I had not counted on.  Blogging has opened up an avenue of expression and fun!  It is a way to talk about healthy living and other issues without anyone talking back or disagreeing with me at the time.  Of course, they are able to comment on my post and that helps me further focus.

I have the full privilege of discovering things that I think and ideas that I had not yet formulated!  It has been pure delight!  Writing has been a desire of my life and as I sharpen my skills, my awareness of the people and activity around me intensifies.

There are so many voices today that processing them into a solid concepts takes discovery.  Often, I am surprised by the direction a post takes.

For me, Blogging is discovering the hidden person of the heart.

Eat, Drink and be Merry – so we live well and long!!

What does it take to truly be healthy
and stay healthy as we start aging?

I am a feisty 68-year-old!! I want to have life in every moment! Sitting around is not my style. So, I want to be healthy and stay healthy. My style has always been to do a lot of research. I was the first non-medical person in my city to have Lamaze childbirth. My babies were breast-fed when that was not a popular notion. I could go on and on. So today my quest is to find a way to stay healthy until I leave this life not because I get sick, but because Father calls me home to heaven.

With that in mind, I did some research on the web. An article on WebMD tells of a survey that shows that not smoking, exercise, healthy diet and moderate drinking cuts the risk of early death. I agree and think that is great! Anyone interested in health is aware that not smoking is a huge key and for years we have heard about exercise. Drinking is interesting and the studies say that it has a cardio-protective benefit by raising good HDL cholesterol and other health markers. But it is important to note that this  is only one small-sized drink for women and up to two small ones for men.  So, I don’t smoke and alcohol is not a factor in my liquid intake. I have an occasional glass of wine in a social setting. Exercise is something I know to do, but I have problems with consistency.

The part of the survey that I think is the most confusing is healthy eating.  What exactly is that? Almost all magazines have articles about how to lose weight and eat healthy and none of them agree. TV has warnings about lettuce and now even cantaloupes. (Yikes! Cantaloupe and salad are supposed to be safe!!) This doesn’t even take into consideration the articles about the problems with our food supply and the movie Food Inc..

Wise health gurus tell us that we should eat around the outside of the grocery store because processing reduces the value to our bodies and puts in chemicals and other mystery additives they promise are safe. All of this makes me wish we I had paid better attention in science classes.

I believe that the survey should have majored on the importance of building a strong immune system and develop a healthy outlook on life. I take pharmaceutical grade vitamins to build immunity and spend time with Father God and laugh with good friends to keep my outlook positive.
